Explore Kristiansand is a locally rooted experience company offering carefully curated activities for visitors and locals alike. Our goal is to help people discover the region in an authentic, enjoyable and well-organised way – whether through outdoor adventures, guided experiences or tailored private tours.
We work across multiple activity types, including kayaking, cycling, walking tours and bespoke experiences that combine nature, culture and local flavour. Everything we do is built around quality, safety and genuine hospitality.
Our approach
We believe that great experiences are created through personal attention, clear communication and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Our activities are designed for real people with different backgrounds and experience levels – not for elite athletes or adrenaline seekers only.

Founded by experience and passion
Explore Kristiansand was founded by Hakeem Teland in 2023. With a background from elite sports and many years of experience on the water, Hakeem brings a strong understanding of both safety and human connection into everything the company offers.
After stepping away from competitive sport, he wanted to create something that allowed more people to enjoy nature in a safe, accessible and meaningful way. Today, he leads Explore Kristiansand with a clear focus on quality, service and long-term relationships, while remaining actively involved as a guide and host.
Lars Magne Ullvang
Our team also includes Lars Magne Ullvang, a Norwegian national team kayaker with extensive international experience. Lars Magne qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo (2021) in K-1 1000 metres and has earned multiple national titles and prestigious awards throughout his career.
Beyond his competitive background, he is known for his calm presence, strong communication skills and ability to make guests feel safe and confident. This combination of professionalism and approachability makes him exceptionally well suited as a guide, particularly in outdoor and water-based experiences.
