Important to know

In Kristiansand we only rent out kayaks on the local lake called Gillsvannet.

Only those with a valid Våttkort (paddling certificate) or extensive experience can rent on the sea in Kristiansand and Lillesan – both areas has busy boat traffic, currents and waves. If you are new to kayaking, we offer rental at the Laka, to make sure you are safe.

  • Price: From 500 NOK per day – the same price whether you paddle for one hour or all day.

  • Included: Kayak, paddle and life vest. No need to bring any gear of your own.

  • Opening hours: Daily from 09:00 to 19:00.

  • Where: Rentals at Gillsvannet (Kristiansand) and in Lillesand – choose your location when booking.

  • Booking: All rentals must be arranged in advance, as the location is not staffed throughout the day.

  • Multi-day rentals: Available by prior arrangement and require kayaking experience.

  • Paddling in Kristiansand city centre: Only for those with a valid Våttkort (paddling certificate) or extensive experience – the area has busy boat traffic, currents and waves.

  • Best suited for: Families, couples and small groups looking for a relaxed experience close to the city.
